The owner that wouldn't leave.
Home Investigation- Washington, CT
In July 2007 we were contacted by a gentleman in Washington
Connecticut who was interested in having us investigate his home. He
told us that the main part of the home was built in 1690 and the other
section was added in the early 1700's. He mentioned that since moving
in strange things began to happen. He told us that regularly the kitchen
door would open and close by itself, he also said he sees a woman
walking the halls on occasion. He said things have disappeared and
reappeared without knowing how it happened. He also said footsteps
can be heard almost every night on the first floor.
We were excited about this investigation due to all the regular
paranormal activity the gentleman told us about. When our team arrived
we were surprised at the age of the home, alot of antiques furnished the
home, the gentleman who asked us not to mention his name or address
due to the collection of antiques he owned, told us he believed the
woman haunting the home was a past owner. He showed us a picture he
had hanging on the hallway wall of a woman. The picture looked like it
was taken in the later 1800's. He said when he bought the home the
picture was in the attic so he decided to hang it up. He also said the
woman he sees walking around the home looks very similar to the
woman in the picture.
The gentleman was leaving for a week to New York and allowed our
team free run of the home. On the first night we set up camcorders with
infrared night vision and a couple voice recorders throughout the home.
We left the house for two hours. We came back and did a EVP session,
ran some temperature checks and walked the home with Electro
magnetic field detectors. After our first visit we reviewed our footage
and found nothing on video. We did capture several minutes of what
sound like footsteps on one voice recorder.
We returned the following night and brought the DVR and nightvision
Bullet cameras. We set four cameras up in the reported places where
paranormal activity take place. We put one in the kitchen where the
owner says the door opens, we put one in the dinningroom, one in the
hall where the womans picture is found and one up the stairs to the
second floor. We let the DVR record for 20 hours and returned to collect
our equipment. We set up the DVR for 3 different nights and caught
nothing aside from several bugs and some dust orbs.
On the second to last night we set up the DVR and cameras and let
them run for 24 hours. After reviewing the footage we were amazed to
find what appears as the kitchen door open several inches and then
close again. We also caught the footsteps again. When the owner
returned we showed him the clip or the door opening and let him listen
the footsteps we caught on the digital recorder, he was not surprised
but said he was relieved that someone aside from him had seen and
heard these things. We told him we experienced several temperature
fluctuations during or investigation also. He was happy with the results
and said we can come back and set up in the near future. We will keep
you posted on our future findings.
